the moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here — the team is going to Lisbon!
we’ve built EAT on the Yeah attitude, meaning that we believe life is best lived to its fullest. our company is infused with the vibe of travel and the quest to soak up every opportunity to learn and grow. we encourage our team to live wherever they want and visit places that inspire them. however, this means that we are now spread across 6 countries, making our face to face time pretty limited.
although video chats give us the chance to connect on a regular basis, there’s nothing like hugging (or making fun of) the people you love IRL, hence why we created an annual team trip.
from December 1st to the 9th, you can find us in Lisbon, Portugal and we couldn’t be more excited. this experience is a mix of business and pleasure, as we gather under one roof for 8 days, working on internal projects, as well as bonding, eating, drinking and laughing at each other’s stupid jokes.
last year’s trip took place in Buenos Aires, where we made paella, drank wine and relaxed by the pool. this year we are heading to Europe to check out the country where our language and a lot of our history originated. our to do list for Lisbon includes: checking out all of the incredible street art (& maybe adding to it), hitting the beach for a sunset (or sunrise), walking through the castles, tasting the best in experimental cuisine and soaking up the sharp contemporary design of the city. Oh and drinking a lot of beer together.
not only do we see this time as a way to deepen our bond and satiate our hunger for culture, but we also see it as a meeting of the minds. when you get a group of artists together in one room, each person’s energy supports the others. it’s almost as if one’s capacity for creativity increases with proximity to other creatives; a creative osmosis if you will. while we love the ability to work from the comfort of our homes, there’s nothing quite like bouncing ideas off of people you trust and then executing them to the maximum.
